Jungmaven

Jungmaven makes very soft tees and basics out of mostly hemp at their LA headquarters. Their simple aesthetic and eco-friendly ethos takes indigo and vegetable dyed hemp and then cuts and sews it into streamlined standards. The clothes have a neppy quality similar to denim, are super breathable, and though they’re a little heavier than the cotton tees we all grew up with, they have a lighter feel and drape that looks great on everybody. ...

Inspired by his college professor and frustrated by the amount of waste that comes from manufacturing, Jungmaven founder Robert Jungmann wanted to make an ecological difference in the fashion industry. Discovering that hemp production helps clean the soil, water, and air by sequestering excess atmospheric carbon, Jungmann began experimenting and designing with hemp fibers. After 25 years, he has perfected a hemp dominated blend that is as quality driven as it is environmentally responsible.

Hemp requires no irrigation, uses no pesticides, fertilizers, or GMO seeds. It is also a quick growing plant, making it a cost efficient solution to manufacturing clothing out of natural fibers.

Climate adaptation is one of the greatest challenges and opportunities facing the world today. Jungmaven wants everyone in a hemp tee by 2020, doing their part to mitigate climate change and helping us all feel as good as a Jungmaven shirt.
