In Northeastern Italy, the Italian Alps cast their shade onto the town of Montebelluna. To cross the mountain passes and ski down the slopes, a cottage industry, from tanneries to hardware producers was built - a heritage network of specialists dating back to the 1870’s. This small town is regarded as one of the most important areas for the research and production of performance footwear. More than half of the world’s mountaineering boots are now built in Montebelluna as well as 75% of the world’s ski boots.
For a large part of their lives, brothers Dennis and Maico Signor worked within this established network, continuing the innovation and development traditions of the highest quality shoes and boots in the world.
In 1992, the brothers decided to start their own company, Diemme. Their first pairs of shoes focused on high performance - intended for trekking, hunting, and mountain climbing. After 25+ years, Diemme now designs on top of that performance foundation - producing an urban aesthetic of refined, modern style coupled to function.
